Friendship - Gotta Have It

Friendship ~ None of that Sissy Crap
Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?
Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.
You will see no cute little smiley faces on this ~Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.
  • When you are sad ~ I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
  • When you are blue ~ I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
  • When you smile ~ I will know you are thinking of something that I would probably want to be involved in.
  • When you are scared ~ I will rag on you about it every chance I get until you're NOT.
  • When you are worried~ I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.
  • When you are confused ~ I will try to use only little words.
  • When you are sick ~ Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
  • When you fall ~ I will laugh at your clumsy ass, but I'll help you up.
This is my oath ..... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask ~ because you are my friend.
Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

My friend sent this to me today in my email ~ isn't it just the sweetest thing!  Love my friends!  Do you still have that bunch of girlfriends you can tell it all to, or maybe just one that you meet up with for drinks, coffee, or dinner?  I often find ya'll, out in blog-land, are like those good friends who we trust with our opinions, ups & downs of life, the clitches, and the support.  Everyone needs at least one wonderfriend friend.  ~ Debi

  6. Very truly said!! Just lost my bestest friend ever in Sept. 27 years we were like salt and pepper, totally different but totally complementing each others personality. God I miss her, everybody should give their bff a hug and tell'em you love them.

  10. So funny, but such an accurate description of a true friend.
I have a cousin who has always been my buddy even though we haven't lived near each other for years. We can visit with one another just like we saw each other the day before.
I appreciate my new blooging buddies too!

  14. Reminds of me of my soul sister in California!

My favorite friend saying is "A friend is someone you can call at 1 AM to bail you out of trouble. But a TRUE friend is someone who is there beside you in the jail cell saying 'Damn wasn't that fun?'!
