I normally might not do this, but I'll blame it on Diane Sawyer on the evening news. She had a segment last night about buying things made in America again. That campaign has been running since the summer. Her challenge again is to spend some of your Christmas shopping money on gifts made in America - Support the small guy.
So.... I'm going to throw this out there. This is our family business ~
This is what we do. We have had this business for many, many years. People know us from everywhere. IF .... you are looking for a gift, or even items for yourself, made in the United States, you might take a look at our web page. Your choices for items made in America would include our hammocks which include the tried and true everyone knows, Pawley's Island or Hatteras Hammocks, rope swings, etc. There is also the Cobble Mountain Swing made in Vermont that is a favorite of most folks. Sorry to say, the beautiful Brazilian furniture is made in Brazil, but still available for sale, and not made in that other country. Remember: It's the quality of the item.
As a self employed business, we ask you support us and all small business out there this holiday season. We are unique. I won't play my fiddle and give you the story because you see the news - you know it's tough on us.
Call Leonard up at the number on the web page. Tell him you're Debi's friend on her blog between now and December 16th, 2011. (You do not have to be a follower of my blog). He will give you an extra 10% off your order. There's also free shipping. Tell your friends and family.
FYI: You get a real person answering the phone during the daytime. We do sleep friends. You will get the answering machine in the evenings after 8:00 p.m. Tell your friends and family to join in the challenge.
Thanks a bunch little friends ~ Debi

Debi, there is one store at University Mall, right? I always stop to admire the chairs! And those hammocks just looks so inviting and clearly meant to last! I did not know this is your family business. You must be so proud. I would love to get some of your stuff soon.
ReplyDeleteHey there, no need to be hesitant.... talking about your business is just natural!
ReplyDeleteJoe was self employed (and my dad was too) so I know all about the pressures of keeping a small business going and feeling responsibility for your employees.
I'll be ordering a hammock for the new porch next spring! It's been on my must have list for a while. And now you've got me tempted by those VT chairs.... are they as comfortable as they look?
Wonderful! I will pass on your company name to family and friends. And let Karen know, over at This Old House2. She also is doing an "made in America" series!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely!
xo, misha
I insisted on having a Pawley's Island hammock when we lived in SC. We went through a few in the 34 years we lived there - selling the last at a moving sale before we left.
ReplyDeleteHooray for buying American!
Very cool - and I try to purchase locally as often as I can.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more - buy here at home, in America.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you shared your website and a bit about your company. I'll pass on the word!
Sooooo nice to know more about you and what you do. American made... wooo hooo... I may just have to place your business on my sidebar. :-))
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful business you have, I will pass the word along. I agree buy made in America. I made my annual Christmas vist to LL Bean's last week and I have to admit I was surprised at how many of their items were NOT made in America, sad. Sending Seasons Greetings from Maine, Julie.
