Yin & Yang
When you can listen to your thoughts
without becoming lost in what you hear;
When you can hear them
without adding or subtracting,
without editing
When you can remember the
very worst without cringing,
without even an eyeblink of the mind,
it's then your life will turn.
~ Journeys on Mind Mountain
I'm working on mindfulness, once again trying to "stay in the moment". When I found the above, it made a lot of sense. I think it might help to print it out and read it every day. Trying to get the yin and yangs to work together these days is quite a challenge especially with the crazy weather, but I'm up for a little push.
There was supposed to be a big training session at work this weekend. 5 days scheduled, including the weekend, 8-7 p.m. each day to get the job done. Luckily, mission accomplished mostly in 2 days and out the door we ran. Have to go back on Monday, but the weekend is mine! We had tremendous rain last night, but nothing like other parts of the country. It is so sad for those the weather caused tremendous heartache. My heart aches when I hear their stories and see those pictures. I pray for all you that were touched from storm devastation and always hope for guardian angles to watch over each of us as we move about our day. Have a great weekend everybody - Debi

We just had a bit of thunder and not the tornado watches or warnings the weather forecasters thought we would have... Glad to hear all you had was rain as well !!
ReplyDeleteYes, I've really had trouble with my Yin & Yang meeting!
ReplyDeleteEvery since I started menopause. I wonder were that woman
I use to be disappeared to!
I don't think I've ever quieted my mind before. Good luck with that. So glad you have a weekend to yourself. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good thought! I have problems getting caught up in the details of the day that I lose myself. So having those moments to allow my mind to clear, really does make a difference!
ReplyDeleteMy heart also aches for those who lost so much in the storms. My family lives very close to the areas hit, and I am thankful that they are well, but pray for those who weren't as fortunate to find peace and safety.
Enjoy your weekend!!
The book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle really helped me change the way I think. Then his next one A New Earth helped me learn to listen to what people acutally are saying instead of just thinking what I am going to say next....really changed my life
ReplyDeleteThose recent tornadoes are so sad. Felt awful for those people. And for your head, "If the Budda got Stuck", check it out if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteAh Debi, Thank you for your post ...it reminds me it is time to return to the mat. I am better at being in the moment when I do my yoga and meditate ...or get lovely inspiration like this to remind me when I have taken a lesser path. Thank you.
